Helix’s founders established the firm in 1993 after working in private equity since the early 1980s. Since that time, eight further Managing Directors, with extensive knowledge of private equity, have joined the firm. Helix's two Senior Vice Presidents and four Vice Presidents also have a prior record of success - in private equity, the financial industry and public service. Helix also currently has four Associates and six Analysts.

Helix follows a non-hierarchical approach to its business: all members of the team contribute towards the success of a fund-raising.  Typically, one Managing Director and one Vice President will lead on a particular fund.  However, the other members of the team will support them as and when required – particularly, in the preparation of due diligence materials; contacting investors; and working with investors who are evaluating the offerings.

Helix’s investment professionals maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the private equity market, and seek to identify trends, influence debate and offer advice through their publications, service in industry bodies, and leadership at conferences.
